Happy holidays everyone. I got nothin’ to do today so thought I’d post this pic. Got my new Tsunami FOB/RFID cards yesterday! 😃.

The FOB on the left is the new one, the FOB in the center is the one I got off ebay a few months ago and hosed for triple the amount of the Tsunami one, and of course the right one is our lovely craptastic original one, that speaks volumes of the word “Geeta”. Have to admit that I like the painted icon sections better. At least I get that for the hosing off eBay.

Im going to attempt to rubber band them together and hover them over a small magnetic north aligned pyramid and hope that osmosis and cosmic energy will auto program them. Wish me 🍀 luck.

Well as it turned out, I didn’t need osmosis, cosmic energy or trade in a bunch of good karma points after all. Out of the blue a local FOO owner whom I will call PDX Phil, got a meet up going down here in PDX and got Fisker tech Harry (from Seattle) to come down and work on a bunch of Fiskers today! So I was able to get my old craptastic FOB deprogrammed and my 2 new FOBs programmed 😃. As well, my 2 RFID cards 🫠. So I’m lovin’ it more than a triple cheese BigMac.

Here’s the only weirdness today and a note for all Ocean owners. We tried to program my old FOB to a different FOO and Harry couldn’t make it happen. It just wouldn’t work. SO… bear in mind everyone that just because you buy a used FOB off of FeeBay, that there’s no guarantee that it can be programmed to your wonk machine. 😕.

 

The Tsunami one doesn't come with programming?

 

I don’t know how much practice was done once the tool for the programming was received (by whoever bought the tool, …may not be a Fisker tech after all), since it was said that the instructions that came with the tool are scarce … and if things go south (for a small %),… there may be no way to recover.
It seems that all these party programming are at your own risk ⚠,…. with fingers crossed 🤞, some luck 🍀and hope for the best we may be happy campers, …..but do we have a choice?, not really.

 

I think he said he got the old one deprogrammed and the two new ones programmed.

 

You are correct! …my bad….2 is good enough (better than one1️⃣).

 

Are all the original FOBs problematic?

 

I would think not, my new ones don’t work any better than the original craptastic one. I think after the FOB update we all had, that made a huge difference in how they work. I’m not sure what they did, but maybe boost the output of the RF signal of the FOB? Anything to use more battery 🙄.

Are they problematic though? I think only a tech could answer that one with certainty.
