At the rate Fisker Inc is ramping up Serial production then Solar Orange beckons on the horizon! Keep your fingers crossed.

Does anyone know if the MY always runs off both front and rear motors? Is there then a difference in EPA rated range with the Ocean given it runs only the front motor and then the rear when needed? Doesn’t that have to factor into range discussion? It’s true that the real-world range of the Model Y at 75 mph average speed is in the 270s. What’s the real-world range of the Ocean?
The range in the 270s mile at highway speeds in the Model Y is not as much of an issue because the Supercharger infrastructure is so much more developed than the CCS infrastructure. And with the Model Y able to use both the Supercharger and the CCS, the range in 270 miles is not nearly as much of a concern as the same range in a non-Tesla.
I’ve taken plenty of road trips in the Tesla and in a CCS EV, and I have experienced first hand the “joys” of taking a non-Tesla on a long road trip.
We live in an area with little EV infrastructure and few EVs. Two weeks ago, my mother went to the ford dealership to look for a gently used SUV (she was looking at Flexes, Explorers and Expeditions). My mother mentioned always wanting a Mustang but a 2-door car was never practical for the family, and the salesman unleashed a long stream of FUD against EVs. For the Mach-E, specifically, he assured her it was a waste of money, costing "$71,000" to buy one. He never mentioned to her that the electric Mustang is a 4-door wagon. ... Now, the Mach-E doesn't have the towing capacity she wants, but he could have done the ground work to sell her a one in a couple years. Instead, when she's ready to downgrade the size of her vehicle, I'll be on the lookout for a lease-returned vehicle from other dealerships. But the $65K Mach E is also grossly overpriced. I’m sure you bought it last year when the prices went nuts. It’s not the new reality of 2023. Last December, I contacted about 40 Ford dealerships around the eastern US, and there were no Mach E of my desired configuration available. Then a few contacted me back and wanted $10,000 above the MSRP to sell me one they had.
The Model Y front motor can disconnect. This is fairly common for most dual (or more) motor EVs.Does anyone know if the MY always runs off both front and rear motors? Tesla and VW use asynchronous induction motors in the front that have very little drag when "powered off." Hyundai and Ford use permanent magnet motors front and back that can't be "powered off," but Hyundai includes a mechanical disconnect for their second motor. This report says that Fisker has opted for a mechanical disconnect on the rear motor similar to Hyundai in order to make it a FWD car most of the time. (As an aside, for this price range, I would have thought they'd want to make it primarily RWD, but I suppose we won't notice the difference in normal operation.) Fisker Ocean First Drive Experience Showcases Its Cool Interior, Silent OperationThe Model Y front motor can disconnect. This is fairly common for most dual (or more) motor EVs.
Edit: I do want to point out that the Y has an AC induction motor in the front so the motor can be "powered off" without needing to be disconnected. AC permanent magnet synchronous motors do need to be disconnected as they can not free-wheel.
I just shred this with the "Radgiver" he has no clue,. I then asked if there is any language to prevent me from selling my ONE the day after I buy it. He shared a clip stating that...(Not a direct quote)" if Fisker has information on intent of a reservation holder to sell their car then Fisker will remove their reservation and keep the $5250",...I found that interestiing.Just noticed the configurator now allows you to change the Trim. A bug, I assume… Is anyone else seeing this?
My case is being reviewed now so this should get worked out. The Radgiver assured me that the One is completely sold out. Although if I go in the app not only is my erroneous One order still confirmed but I could even go and reserve a second One.I just shred this with the "Radgiver" he has no clue,. I want to believe.
Ja, you can reserve a One, but you cannot order it... For the order, you've to be invited. My case is being reviewed now so this should get worked out. Congrats! You got number 500OneHmm. So I changed my Sport to a One to see what would happen and it’s there and says no longer able to edit so I can’t change it back.
This is definitely a glitch, someone posted on Reddit they just received an invite to reserve a One from a cancellation. I changed my Ultra to a One, still shows as a One every time I look, on the app, web, etc. but 99.9999999% sure I’m not getting a One. I might email customer service and just ask when I can pay the 5k.Did anyone ever get a response from the Radgiver? They asked which version of the app I was able to make the change on (iOS or Android) and then went silent…
Lexus still sells cars?My reservation is being reset to my original request… but has not been resolved weeks after flagging the issue. The tension in this company between the need to keep up appearances to save the SPAQ stock so they can sell more shares and the reality that Covid-19 destroyed their planned path to production to sell actual cars is just untenable for actual customers. Remember the Lexus brand was made on how they handled their first recall with competence not the free keychain they gave the first 5k customers.
@ZaphodBy next year, there will be loads of new EVs,
some may have comparable range and comparable prices.
I think the Jaguar/Land Rover vehicles will be too expensive to compete with the Ocean.@Zaphod
The sleeping giant Tata Motors will fork over buckets of investment dollars to revive and convert
Land Rover & Jaguar to BEV market
The LR Velar is a particular direct competitor to the Fisker Ocean Extreme & perhaps, also Ultra model
