I saw an article that suggested Teslas will automatically turn off the autopilot in split seconds before a crash so that they can say "no, the autopilot wasn't engaged." Maybe someone posted that here already. Very interesting and dangerous.

Marketing basement of Tesla is the autopilot and gas cost saving, how many videos on the net showing a guy driving hand free no matter the country. How many crashs in direct on videos, it is ridicules!

The relevant data is number of crashes per mile driven on Autopilot. The author is comparing apples and cucumbers. NHTSA data will shed some light on this. Right now the actual data we have (reported every quarter) says that driving on AP you are 1/10th as likely to get into a collision as the average driver. We shall see.
