I will cancel my reservation.

I was one of the first to believe in the project and put the deposit in Nov 2019.

Now Fisker has chosen to sell firstly to US people to take advantage of the US credit tax and this probably will cover the Ultra/Sport capacity of 2023.

Deliveries to Italy has no info, even if they have taken my money from the beginning. I will probably see Italy deliveries after 2023 where the price of the car will change.
Maintaining the reservation is not useful anymore, so I prefer to take back my money and eventually order the Ocean if and when the car will be available to Italian market.

In the meantime the Pear will get more info and maybe I will switch my attention to it. But this time I will not put a reservation.

I will continue to partecipate to the forum and follow the next steps of the Fisker projects. I am happy that some people will receive the Ocean this year and I am still excited to see what journalists and first customers will say about the car. I hope the best for Fisker company.

I don’t think doing the preorders for the U.S. is an indication that they are moving them up to the front of the line. Fisker had to create “binding contracts” for U.S. customers due to pending changing laws in order for the customers to be grandfathered into the tax credits. As it is a U.S. issue, they did not have to convert the reservations for other countries.

I feel once they open up the ordering on 11/18, it will return to their original plan.

Agreed, they are not prioritizing US deliveries. All they are doing is helping US customers to get $7500 federal tax credit. The new law doesn't give tax credit for non US assembled car and the new law allows transition period. In simple terms... If binding contract is signed before law is President signs the bill and delivery can be taken in 2023.

My 2 cents... So you don't have to cancel. In fact, I'm happy with Fisker for quickly reacting and helping customers. I have reservations for both Fisker and Rivian, don't think other manufacturers reacted this quickly.

In addition, there really isn't any penalty to waiting and seeing how things play out. If you keep your reservation and more news and informtation comes out that makes you want to cancel, you don't loose anything more. But right now you are making a knee jerk reaction on an assumption that doesn't have any factual support. There really isn't any harm in keeping your reservation at this point. Just my 2 cents.

Hey Diesel1701, hang in there a bit longer. Fisker is not diverting cars intended for early reservation/deposit holders in Europe to the US market- only changing the status of the deposit to a binding contract so that we can take advantage of existing tax laws before they suddenly expire Jan 1st.
Just think how good that Ocean is going to look driving around Italy and hitting the ski slopes next winter!

Don't give up on us just yet. Fisker is only trying to allow their customers to be eligible for the $7,500 tax credit. I don't believe this will have an effect on the allocations for each country.

Exactly, do NOT give up your Ocean Reservation.
This pre-emptive move by Fisker Inc
will guarantee US Ocean with confirmed orders, not just by Reservation, that they will receive
the $7,500 tax credit of the existing
EV Rebate Program

Thanks all for the replies.
I am very torn about this and the continuous change on how the order are going makes me feel a bit confused and not considered. Even if I am one of the first to believe in Fisker.
You are right I don't loose anything maintaining the reservation, but on the other side I don't see why I should still keep it since I am in a country that is not a first choice for the company.

I have a good ticket for the opera, but I am seeing a lot of people are entering before me in the theatre.

Anyway I will take some days to think at it and maybe have a reply from Fisker about the approximate availability of the car in Italy.

@diesel701 good luck to you. If it's strictly on the US budget news, I'd hold off on canceling your reservation. I agree with others and how I don't feel this is going to impact your situation nearly like you might think. I believe this is simply locking in a purchase agreement with US buyers, so they can access the tax incentive. I don't feel this will cause their vehicle to get built ahead of someone like yourself.

I decided to cancel for different reasons. The more I learned about the vehicle the more it just doesn't fit with our family. The limited storage capacity is a big deal breaker for our growing family. I love the looks of the vehicle and features it has, but it just doesn't fit us right now. Good luck to everyone. I'll be following from the sidelines.

I'm canceling too in the USA. Too many unanswered questions. And it's just not worth it to me to have so many doubts with the tax credit. I was excited to own an Ocean....but instead have become even more excited to buy a Ford Mach-E. I'm really sick of the Ocean delivery date being pushed back. Another 15+ months for an Ultra?! No thanks. I'm sick of the gas station and like the features the Mach-E offers that Fisher doesn't.

I'm not sure of what features "FISHER" offers, however regarding the Mach E, have you been to the Ford website?
