Who has the best rates out there for a loan? Typically a CU, but I found a few sites that said as low as 2.99% but that was before the Fed raised %.

The best in my area is around 4.9%. At this point, I may just pay mostly cash and put the rest on a credit card. Then pay off when the balance transfer is due in 12-18 months. I still get 0% balance transfers.

Rates at University Credit Union keep going up. They used to have a 48-mo. rate; I never noticed the 84-mo. term before (not sure why anyone would do that as the monthly difference to the 60-mo. is pretty minimal). My sweet spot was 48-mo.; I am trying to decide between 36 & 60 mo. now.

I dont anticipate another half point raise, but they are too scared of inflation reversing the slight cooling trend it has been on, so there wont be any rate reductions anytime soon.

There is a service requirement, “To become a member, you or one of your family or household members must have ties to the armed forces, DoD or National Guard.”

I myself would skip the enlistment for a few percentage points on a loan 😆

Sometimes their rates are unbeatable. Have done 3 loans with them over the years. I like their blank check option. Hated walking into dealerships but knowing I didn't have to listen to the finance guy trying to upsell me stuff I didn't need made those trips bearable.
