I think you are confusing amps for EVSEs and breakers. Hard wired EVSEs are usually 48A which requires a hard wired 60A breaker (80% of 60 is 48).

Your guesstimate of 200 kW peak would jive with the idea that the system would be capable of 250 kW, but would be throttled back till Fisker got more real-world data on battery degradation. ... I would think the 40-amp AC would be more because the most common maximum home amperage is a 50-amp breaker. Like @SeaPhil4 , I would be interested if it is capable of higher amperage systems.

Before we get excited about 250kW peak for DCFC, remember that the Fisker uses a 400V architecture. At the CCS limit of 500A, the most power a Fisker Ocean can draw is roughly 400V * 500A = 200kW. Most likely, the voltage will be slightly lower and therefore the peak power slightly lower. Comparing to a Blazer EV and Lyriq, for example, which have peak charging speed of 190kW, the Fisker Ocean is likely to be very similar in spite of claiming a peak charging speed of 250kW.

That's a good point. It's also why my Tesla will max out at CCS chargers at around 200-205 kW. Tesla can hit 250 kW on a 400V system due to the high amperage (800).

Really uncool not being able to play through usb. I hope they have the hardware and can be software updated.
I was so looking forward to play lossless tracks through the 17 speakers.

Thanks, @MTN Ranger. I did a lot of digging around for info & the physical unit itself will support USB input as manufactured, but not the way Fisker is implementing it. My understanding/belief is that gives Fisker tighter control and security (why make it easier for hackers to get access?), so maybe just maybe the ability to play media from USB will be enabled at a later date. I also have a huge library of lossless tracks, many in 5.1. Good news is that all the stereo tracks should play through bluetooth. Bad news is all surround sound gets compressed to stereo through bluetooth.

So no movies via USB drive?

@ShahAli, I think no movies or audio through USB at this time (and maybe never).

I will point out that what we've seen of the interface shows that the Ocean will support streaming audio/video. So, you can stream movies. The Tidal app streams hi-res and even multichannel/surround audio, so I'll be looking at a subscription to that.

i was hoping to have movies on a usb, my music on a USB rather than streaming with bad connection. Rathr disappointed. If its a function that can be implemented later that is fine, if its crippled from the begining than not so great.

What is the problem to listen the music via Bluetooth ? I did it in my BMW i4 on Spotify and sound is very good!
