Although this was posted inside a different thread, I think this is important enough for its own post.

A lot of upset posts on the Ocean FB group over this. Some are saying they are cancelling since they thought the Ultra would be available after the One fulfills 5000 orders. Fisker is said it will go One (5000 orders), then Extreme, then Ultra, then Sport. Most of 2023 sales will be Extreme and Ultra trims.

What‘s the problem with Fisker Inc choosing fiscal integrity & survival!
Cash flow is King!

Anyways, Henrik has stated that Magna Steyr will ramp up production as quickly as possible.
Today’s Total Reservations (40,000) represent at most 8 months production
(5,000 production x 8 months)

N.B. During the last earnings call, 43% of Reservations were
for Fisker Ocean One/Extreme. 38% for Ocean Ultra

P.S. I’m now placing my second reservation to be delivered sometime in/before 2024

I have no problem with it.

As a possible Fisker Ocean Sport customer I am a bit disappointed.

In the press release they are saying that the Sport will probably start to be produced at the end of 2023 or beginning of the 2024.
And in combination, they are saying that the prices shown now are fixed until the end of 2023.

This means that probably the so much announced sub 40k dollars car will be produced in a very small batch and that after the 2024 the cheaper trim could rise up to more than 40k.

I see that as a sort of fraud just to gain more attention and reservation holders.

Anyway we are still far from deliveries and all can change, but I don't like how Fisker is doing.
Beautiful car, bad communications.

I do not understand why people are upset about when Ultra version will be produced. I think it is Smart the way he is deciding to do the production of the vehicles. I am guessing at Magna he may only have 1 or 2 manufacturing lanes used for his vehicles. Plus the One and Extreme are the same vehicle so it makes since they will be built together or one after the other. I think the only difference in them is the labeling of the One that is the only difference. When you try to go back and forth it slows production down as you have to change programmings on systems which take time and he needs to ramp up not down.

Gee I remember a company you mentioned a 35k car and that lasted what 4 months then it shot up to close to 40k and then became an off menu order item, then it got cancelled. So who does that sound like ummm Tesla...... It is not fraud as long as they hold out on what they say as in making the vehicle at the price they are aiming at. They never said prices will never go up or flunctuate. He might do the same at Musk and flunctuate pricing up and down to help with the demand so production can catch up. But the demand for the Ocean is pretty much at full capacity for the next year and half of production if not longer. So even if you do have a Sport trim in mind nobody will get it until he gets cash flow in from the higher trim models as that is how businesses do things always the more expensive model first to gain the cash flow to help pay and for the goods of everything else that is just how business works. I personally if I get one would get the Ultra if I use Flexee Lease or if buy I would do the Sport probably but as my car only 1.5 years old I have some time.

@S7davis I understand your point of view and I agree that a company should go for an higher cash flow firstly, like Testa did with Roadster and Model S first models.
But my point is how Fisker advertises his car, talking about affordable models while it's mostly a premium car at higher price.
It's a very good product and I agree that at below 40k would be a market breaker. I hope Fisker will come to the market with the Sport model at below 40k, but day by day I am realizing that the company is pointing to the higher models.

Said that, probably now I will look at other cars more than before. And maybe I will give my early reservation to people that are interested in the One model.

@diesel701 If Fisker will follow suit how Musk did it he will have a sub 40k vehicle because if not that is fraud so he will release that version and I think legally he has to but doesn't say for how long though. I also think if one place an order for the sub 40k model before the price increase I do believe the price at time of order should be honored as it kinda become a binding contract I would assume. But I am no lawyer but I do believe if you place your order while the price is cheaper that should be the price you pay. Now if you wait until middle of 23 to place order the prices may change or might have already changed for the 24 models.

I read somewhere that the Ocean One will be only for sale, no Flexee Lease on that version because the margin will be used to increase the cash flow to use on Flexee Lease on other versions to come later (Extreme, Ultra, Sport).

I'll be queing up for the One, but only for getting it early. But I don't mind getting the Xtreme as long as I get it before June 2023 when a family road trip is planned and my current i-Pace is sold. As S7davis wrote, the One only has some cosmetic extras and personally I don't really care about them. I'd possibly rather want a black Xtreme than the blue One.

The one also gets the 22" F3 Slipstream wheels where the Extreme only gets the 20" F7 Aero Stealth. We don't know what the wheel options prices are yet, but I expect them to be at least $1000-2000 more than the standard ones. So the One is getting a couple thousand dollars more in "free" upgrades for the same price as the Extreme.

Is there any chance that fisker doesn't do the flex lease on the ultra and only purchase? I feel like if they changed that they would lose alot of buyers
They have only said that the One will be purchase only. I doubt they’ll apply that to any other models. The lease and re-lease of vehicles in their fleet for 12 years is a big part of their business model.
