Well it's exactly my biggest concern about the Ocean.Based on Fisker words, no Apple Car Play or Android Auto, but they will put a custom and proprietary UI.
Will the Fisker team be able to deliver the final UI before production? I have feelings that it will be as VW ID3, with some unfinished features.
Even if Fisker were to use ACP/AA, they would still need to design a UI. ACP/AA only handles what is on your phone, Fisker would still need a UI for all the car functions. Plus, it's not like whatever version they have in October is the final version, as long as the hardware is finalized, they can continue to update and modify the UI.For a company that touts "asset light" as their core strategy, I'm a bit concerned about them reinventing the wheel instead of just paying the licensing fee for ACP/AA. October is reeeeeally close to SOP and doesn't leave much time for revisions.
I can't even imagine the massive lift it must be to start a car company, even with great partners like Magna...but between the delays on UI, journalist drives/previews, and building the experience centers, I'm trying to temper my enthusiasm for November production at scale.
It's the User Interface, or the design of the software that runs the large screen. What is UI?
UI should be able to accept Apple car play and Android.I know that is just a rendering but if that is somewhat accurate it will have ACP lol that is Apples navigation system on iphones lol.
ThanxIt's the User Interface, or the design of the software that runs the large screen.
