No news, but the photo of the Ocean in the matte blue looks jaw-dropping here. There are quite a few colors that I like, but this one is shouting at me.

That is one of our favorite colors! We are trying to decide which one to pick!
One of the great things having a design own the company is that he's not just thinking about the bottom line. A while back, Henrik said that 70% of all cars are black/white/gray. I've checked other vehicles and the vast majority of their colors are variations of those 3. I was recently looking at the Volvo V60. It was only available in 4 colors, all grayscale. You could make the argument that the V60 is a fringe vehicle that doesn't sell much (I'm a big fan of Volvo wagons, btw), but even their other cars are mostly grayscale. They'll be available on the Ocean of course, but its color palette is surprisingly large.

I hate that. Look at the choices for the Ioniq 5: black, white, gray, bluish gray, and greenish gray. Blah. Yuck.
In the rain, a gray car becomes invisible.
Only on the exterior. What non-black interior goes with Red or Orange? There is no “warm” tan/natural color value. Sea Salt has a damned blue stripe wrecking it!
This is really one of my only gripes with the Ioniq 5. That and the lack of a rear wiper. But I have to deal with that on the Ocean too.
I think you’re shouting into the wind my friend. I don’t see any new interior color options coming any time soon.
I’m sure you are right but there is a marked imbalance in the palette. Offering so many exteriors merits little credit when coordinating interiors are absent.
The thought just occurred to me that perhaps the interior color palette will increase when other colors come out. A Sea Salt interior with a blue stripe wouldn't work with an orange exterior, but it looks like the only available exterior colors at the start will be various blues and grayscale.
Unless you are a Florida Gators fan!
I'm not a sports fan in the least, so I never thought of that.
Looks good with the required upkeep, but a non-starter here where it's 110-120F in the summer. Even the black interior with another exterior is DOA here.
Color is a personal choice! I have no idea what to configure, I am waiting on the new colors to be loaded and I might do Sand interior if I know more about the fabric to seal it. No rush, enjoying the ride and hoping for a successful rollout.

I do like the matte blue paint on the ocean and was going to select that as my color of choice but after reading about the upkeep and care of that paint, I decided to go with the blue planet or orange.
Sand interior? All I see are dark blue, black, and white. What do you know that we don't? A "Sand" color would be a major help for the red, orange, and even blue exteriors!
