It’s official - I’m now 1 of 5,000

I received an email earlier this week stating I was selected to order the ONE if interested (my initial reservation for a Extreme was roughly #63,000. Well, I just pulled the trigger and gave them $5k. No looking back now.

A few things from my conversation.

  • deliveries in US should start late June. They were not committing to this though.
  • primary way people will receive their ONE is by personal delivery (cost of $2,300)
  • they might hold some event pickups throughout the US, but nothing confirmed yet
  • all ONE’s to be delivered by end of September, worldwide

I hope for a delivery closer towards September, but will be ready. Stay tuned folks and let the fun begin (soon).

Congrats (although there are some on here that would say otherwise). Did they give you a sequence # yet?

If any Ones do make it to the U.S. in June, it will be a very small amount - I am guessing for employees and/or VIPs only. I have been checking shipping manifestos and have not seen any indication that any Oceans are on any ships heading for the U.S.; ships take about 3 weeks to make it from Europe to the West Coast so they would need to be on the boats very soon to be delivered in June (they could be disguising the shipment though, not an expert in sleuthing). My assumption is that June production will likely stay in Europe for Fisker to be able to deliver them within Q2 and recognize the sale proceeds. As soon as Q3 starts (July), I can see Fisker producing all N.A. bound Ones which will take about 5-7 weeks for delivery once built so looking at Mid-August to September for most U.S. deliveries.

Just an order number, replacing reservation number. I agree on delivery timeline and am ok with it. My biggest hesitation and why I almost took the wait and see approach is possible price drops for Extreme, Ultra, Sport by years end. We Shall see.

That offer was unsolicited? You originally just had a reservation from somewhere around November 22? Thats very interesting.

From the email

”Thank you for your interest in the Fisker Ocean One. We are excited to inform you that a Fisker Ocean One may soon become available. You are at the top of our waitlist, giving you the opportunity to own one of only 5,000 Fisker Ocean Ones ever made!”
One chap in the UK also given chance. Not sure how it works. When the wait list email was sent I was on it like a bullet... So would have thought I'd be top of the list.

This shows some people are cancelling one reservations.

This reality was reflected on the last earnings call (Q1 2023)
when overall Reservations remained exactly the same!
Q4 2022: 65,000 Reservations
Q1 2023: 65,000 Reservations (+ 5,600 PEAR Reservations) = 70,000 Total Reservations

Thus, Fisker Ocean cancellations are equal to new Fisker Ocean Reservations

Is there a chance there are already a bunch of Ocean Ones stored somewhere in LA right now waiting for EPA approval and maybe a software update? Then off to their owners? Sounds plausible to me, but I've never tracked ships.

There's a chance. There is a better chance I'm just not good at finding the shipments. Here is the site I use:

I do general searches and commodity searches for "Fisker", "Fisker Ocean" or "VCF1" (the start of their VINs). "Fisker" search results in a ton of results but have not seen any vehicles on the list since the ones shipped in February. You do have a limited amount of daily searches (although using a VPN will increase the number).

That some people will cancel is expected, with a 12 month+ waiting time it will happen.

  • People break up/divorce
  • Lose their jobs
  • Get injured
  • Got to move, change prioities
  • Moving abroad
etc.

I have seen a few people trying to sell their One for some of reasons mentioned above.

There is also a major war going on in Europe 😭, that affects lifes.

This is very normal (not the war), and happens all the time.

The waiting list was said to be stopped at 1000 people, a very low number for a world wide wait list. Many just put their name on a waitlist for fun.

That said, I have seen in total less than 5 people trying to sell, and less than 5 people to get a One from the waitlist. This is from forums, FB etc, if you double these numbers cause not all is online, it is still very low numbers - hence we are talking about a new veichle never sold.

I got similar email a couple of months ago, and when I asked why me, the rep said it's because my existing Ultra order was about $62K, and I live close enough to one of the anticipated Fisker Centers in West Coast.

But you were not on the One wait list, correct?

No, I had reservation of Ultra only. Rep told me that upon cancelations of original wait list people, they approach those who reserved similarly priced Xtreme or Ultra, with address close to current/future service centers.
