Great to hear that Tesla Inc is on a rampage to build as many Gigafactories and EV Battery
Operations as quickly as possible around the Globe.

The Tesla delegation recently met with the Canadian Government
Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry to speed up the permitting process

It's great to see the competition between the two Heavyweight Provinces
of Ontario and Quebec.
This matchup would pit the EV friendly, Cheap electricity and Union loving QUEBEC
against the EV hating, mineral rich, and Nuclear loving ONTARIO

Personally, Tesla should SPLIT their strategy!
Get as much Tax & Land Grants as the Provinces will give....
THEN built the Battery Factory in Ontario AND the Gigafactory in Quebec

Triple Win for Canada, Ontario and Quebec!

They should build right on top of the Ottawa River and have half the factory in Ontario and half in Quebec!

NEWS FLASH
Tesla visits Graphite mine and processor in QUEBEC.....

Perhaps, I got it backwards.....
Build the Battery Plant in Quebec in the Battery Valley of Quebec

(Bécancour, Québec, which has been called “Québec’s Battery Valley,” as many companies working on battery materials have made significant investments there lately, including GM and Livent.

....and the GigaFactory in Ontario
Best suited around Windsor, Ontario just across the US border in Detroit, MI

They should build in Letterkenny. I'd love to see what they could to with a Tesla factory on the show...

The recent designs of Tesla gigafactories in Berlin/Shanghai/Austin include both battery and car production. So it will likely be one facility in Canada.

I know....However, this could be "the perfect storm" for Tesla
QUEBEC province is in the midst of a provincial election
Quebec is also pro EV with $7,000 EV rebate and low electricity rates in Canada
(May be the lowest)

ONTARIO province is the largest (38% pop.) and most prosperous with the Financial Headquarters of Canada.
Ontario still dominates the Canadian Auto production with plants in Windsor, Oakville, Brampton,Oshawa, Ingersoll, Allison, Cambridge and various Magna plants

Finally, the Federal Government is keen to keep its promise to create green jobs across
Canada.
By funding, dare I say, ONE Billion FIVE Hundred Million Dollars three ways, Tesla Inc
could really be a huge beneficiary
. Ontarians & Quebecers have both embraced the EV Revolution

Tesla Inc is looking to hire “high volume” recruiters to operate in Quebec
There are rumors that the automaker is looking to establish a factory in the region
A decision will be made by end of 2022

"Tesla plans to ramp up production to 20 million electric vehicles by the end of the decade, and it is expected to need about eight more Gigafactories to do it."

Another great video by The Electric Viking explaining why Tesla GigaFactory should Be coming to Canada

Pertinent Points:

1) Tesla Inc has been speaking with Canada Innovation Minister since March 2022
(6 months of negotiations)

2) Inflation Reduction Act is spurring OEM Car Manufacturers to start EV businesses
in Canada
( GM, Mercedes and VW have now struck deals)

3) Both Quebec and Ontario are super rich in all the necessary & vital minerals

4) Transportation Costs from Ontario/Quebec are roughly 7 hours
Transport drive to Eastern Seaboard
(New York City, Boston, Washington DC & Chicago markets)

5) Tesla supply chain factories will be within close proximity to GigaFactory

6) Neodymium Magnets are manufactured in Canada
(To combat China's 76% worldwide market share)

7) Ontario Population: 15.0 Million or 38% Canada Total
Quebec Population: 8.6 Million or 22% of Canada Total

Personally, Ontario has the population resources to support the 5,000 - 10,000
employees needed at a Tesla GigaFactory

NEWS UPDATE:

"Tesla has hired Aleem Ladak to lead “Government Policy, Critical & Supply Chain.
Aleem Ladak is a geological engineer who started out his career as a mining engineer and then moved on to the analysis and business side of the industry."

"Before joining Tesla last month, he was a “senior mineral economist & battery minerals advisor for the Ontario Ministry of Mines.”

P.S. This former Ontario government official now puts
Ontario in the drivers seat for the Tesla GigaFactory

The NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) in Detroit is the
epicentre of the Big Three North American auto manufacturers

Naturally, it spurred constructive dialogue between industry executives and
Canada's federal government officials

Yesterday, he was at the Detroit Auto Show, and in a post on Twitter he confirmed that he talked to GM, Stellantis, and Ford at the event:

Francois-Philippe Champagne, Canada’s industry and innovation minister, confirmed that the government is talking to Tesla about the automaker establishing a factory in the country.

When Champagne confirmed talks with Tesla, he also said that he is talking to many other automakers.

All Quiet on the EV news front.....until today!

Canada’s federal government is trying to convince Canadian pensions to finance construction of a dozen EV battery plants in the country.

Great idea to possibly involve Canada's HUGE pension board company, CPPIB, to
invest some of its Billions into EV battery production

N.B Canada's CPPIB (Canada Pension Plan Investment Board) currently
holds $523,000,000,000 in various investments worldwide ($532 Billion Dollars)
