CleanTechnica has an Article on the Zeekr 001 and 009 being the first vehicles to use CATL's new Qilin cell an CTP technology. Here is a quick compare on how the 001 stacks up to the Ocean (TL : DR summary - meh, I'd rather have an Ocean).

Following the various links, and we discover the Zeekr "twin-motor version gets 536bhp and 566lb ft of torque, meaning the 0-62mph sprint takes 3.8 seconds. It also gets a massive 100kWh battery for up to 435 miles of range, and with 360kW fast charging available it can top up from 10 to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes."

  • Okay so performance is on par with the Ocean. √
  • The 435 miles of range is actually 700km of range using the Chinese range estimate. Translating into WLTP it is a 340 miles of range vs the Ocean 390 miles (WLTP). Meh.
  • Charging speed to 65-70kwh in 30 minutes (depending on buffer) or 130 - 140 kw. This is fine. Not a game changer, but pretty good. Ioniq 5 will do 10%-80% in 18 minutes on a good day (Euro spec battery) which is enough to haul you 210 (WLTP) miles. The Zeekr will take 30 minutes to get you 238 (WLTP) miles of range. Fine.
  • Then there is the price: "the highest-trim option with 436 miles (700 km) of range costs just $56,000" which is great but a longer range Ocean costs just $49,900 so yeah, whatever.

For my money, I am far less excited about Geely's latest model and do not for the life of me understand why our friends at CleanTechnica and Top Gear are falling over themselves with hyperbole like: "Model X Specs at Half the Price." Zeekr says the 001 is "the most exciting EV in a generation." Okie dokie.

*As is typical of the EV press there are various bits of conflicting data here so we will not know with any real clarity until it is tested and certified for the European or US markets.

Performance parameters very similar to he Fisker Ocean...
Confirms my suspicions that the Fisker Ocean will carry a similar sized battery pack- 100 KWh
I kinda like this shooting brake design...should be a HIT in Europe (where this style is popular)

When i look at these measurements, it confirms the more aggressive, less boxlike design aesthetic that HF was striving for and that the Chinese manufacturers try so hard but fall short of. The Geely is ok, but it just reminds me so much of some “fast and furious” wannabe.

To be fair the interior looks more premium and its got a frunk compared to the Ocean!
However, glad to see the real range is closer to the Fisker. Having said that we don't know what the Ocean is as its all estimated and also we don't even know the Ocean boot size.

Not a fan of the shape, its nice but looks like a hatchback style care. prefer the Ocean.
