Blink twice if Elon is making you post this.So true, but at the same time if I was in the market for a $90k-$120k vehicle (Model S & X) I don't think I would even blink twice. 🤷♂️

I don't know. It always seems like the people that buy that price range of car are the stingiest. BMW 7 or X7, Mercedes S or GLS, Audi A8 or Q7/Q8, and the Tesla S/X.So true, but at the same time if I was in the market for a $90k-$120k vehicle (Model S & X) I don't think I would even blink twice. 🤷♂️

That's right.I don't know. It always seems like the people that buy that price range of car are the stingiest. BMW 7 or X7, Mercedes S or GLS, Audi A8 or Q7/Q8, and the Tesla S/X.
It's the people that buy above this price bracket that really don't blink in my experience.
$1500 for Red Planet!$3,000 for ultra red, $4,500 for solar orange.
I think we previously and definitively established that Fisker charges ~$1k more for matte paint, for standard metallic/gloss they are above market by ~$500 - $700 and that they are above market for speciality multilayer (solar orange). This data just consistent with previous findings: $3,000 for ultra red, $4,500 for solar orange.
As I understand it (and HF said this some time ago) Red planet is a standard metallic not a multilayered paint like marine layer, solar orange. Ultra red is also one of those multi-layer paints.
Or Audi, or BMW, or Porsche.Solar orange is on fire! I would get it for my One if it was offered. But seriously, $4500 for multicoat is expensive, but a far cry from the $8k Mercedes is charging for custom colors.
Maybe I'll get BSB and have a colored wrap put on. Hmm.Solar orange is on fire! I would get it for my One if it was offered. But seriously, $4500 for multicoat is expensive, but a far cry from the $8k Mercedes is charging for custom colors.
The Ocean multilayer paint costs 50% more than Teslas. There is no energy left after discussing Ocean paint prices with people who argues that their pricing is competitive for a semi-cheap car.Where is that same energy?
so I'm seriously curious. Exactly what is "notoriously" bad about their paint? I mean I've heard about build quality, but what is wrong with their paint???. Aren't the paint jobs on Tesla's notoriously bad anyway?
Google is your friend for this (you will be able to find hours of reading material). The paint issues have improved; it was worst at Fremont but the other factories are better. Avoid black at all costs unless you plan on getting an immediate wrap or ceramic coating.so I'm seriously curious. Exactly what is "notoriously" bad about their paint? I mean I've heard about build quality, but what is wrong with their paint???
I have a 2018 Black. Was fine. I did spend the few hundred when it first came to get a good ceramic coating. Has held up very well. Need to get it redone but overall good as any of my last three black vehicles from various manufacturers.Google is your friend for this (you will be able to find hours of reading material). Do you guys carpool? The Ocean multilayer paint costs 50% more than Teslas. There is no energy left after discussing Ocean paint prices with people who argues that their pricing is competitive for a semi-cheap car.
Hey, look, he knows about build quality. I told you he knew all along.so I'm seriously curious. Exactly what is "notoriously" bad about their paint? I mean I've heard about build quality, but what is wrong with their paint???
