I was a huge tesla fan, bought stock early on that later almost paid for my long range RWD model 3. I'd never bought a new car before, but the tax credit made me take the leap. I still love the car in many ways. The driving position. The view from the front seat. The responsiveness of the screen and the way the integrating charging data makes road trips so easy. But all the quality issues are annoying. As is the way tesla started off offering me a model S loaner when I needed repairs. Then that became just a rental gas car. Now it's just uber credits. The more money they make, the worse they treat customers. And the service centers are SWAMPED with their low quality cars and it takes forever for repairs.

Then elon jumped off the deep end and started promoting climate roasting cryptocurrency. Wanted to get coup plotters back on twitter. And fully jumped on board with the cult that denies climate change and tried to overthrow democracy. So I'm done with him. Sold most my stock and wont buy another tesla.

The ocean is really looking good as my possible next car. I'm planning to buy some stock too and maybe that'll pay for it the way it paid for my tesla. I'm eager to see the final PEAR design too, even though the name is AWFUL and we should petition them to change it.

There are a few things about the designs I dont love, like the rotating screen gimmick and the giant FISKER lettering on the top. Wish it had a few more buttons and knobs too, but I still think it looks pretty great.

I'm really hoping reports of initial quality are higher than tesla. Less road noise would be awesome too.

I know a lot of people are skeptical about fisker because of previous flops, but with magna on board, I think this could be a success, if an economic downturn and supply chain issues dont wreck them. That would be unfortunate timing.

Hello everyone!
The rotating screen gimmick is only available on the One and the Extreme. Go for the Ultra, where the screen doesn't rotate.

It seems like the quality issues haven't gone away after all these years. I seem to remember reading a while back that Musk is fine with that. And I really don't like the total lack of buttons in Tesla. Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should.
Model Y is not a bad car. I was very critical of Tesla and Musk before I bought the Model Y, which I only bought because I had a reservation on it, and the locked price was $6,000 less than the retail price. Within a few months, the price went up by another $6,000. So, I have a brand new car for $12,000 or $13,000 less than the current price. But, after having driven the Model Y in town occasionally, I actually started appreciating the technology. It is noisier than it should be, and it is strange not having physical buttons, but the user interface has improved since the December 2021 debacle significantly. There is a software update every two weeks or so, which keeps making the vehicle better. The Tesla OTA updates are as painless as iPhone OTA updates. There are some panel gaps, but in reality it’s nitpicking. It’s true that other brands can fit panels together better, but really it doesn’t matter. Musk himself is a character that I do not appreciate, but Tesla is not a bad brand or company. Of course, the Model Y or Model 3 are not luxury vehicles - far from that - but the quality is not bad, and the EV tech is one of the best there is right now. All in all, Tesla is not something that should be derided but rather emulated. What I’m hoping Fisker Ocean will do is exceed the Model Y in ride quality and interior amenities while staying competitive in acceleration and range.

That's one of the problems I have with Tesla also; I really don't like Musk. I won't go into it here. The Ocean won't be a luxury vehicle either; nice, but not luxurious. Based on the Precept concept at least, Polestar will probably have nicer interiors (I'm talking about the upcoming models, not the current ones which are just based on Volvo concepts). And likely cost much more. I'm committed to Fisker at this point but still keep an eye on Polestar. And Volvo.

Hello everyone!
Yes I am the same way… I reserved an ocean instead of getting a Y. I am not giving away my Model 3 but I love the Fisker design and how they’re planet friendly.
I think it will be successful like Tesla was in the early years.
I just can’t support Elon with his recent antics. Announcing the your laying off 10% of your staff like he did. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is how the staff learned about it.
we’ll know more in July about the ocean.

Yeah the polestar 5/precept is my dream car at this point. Not really a fan of SUVs or crossovers but that seems like all that fisker is going to build, other than the roadster which will be out of my price range. I've considered a polestar 2, but am reading reports of rattles and quality issues like tesla, plus a worse visibility and cramped interior. Also am keeping an eye for when polestar stock goes public, since it's valued around the same level as fisker right now, but they're actually selling and servicing cars already.
