Model X is nice - I like that it has an actual driver display - but that price is way out of my budget even after price drops.

Honestly, if the Model Y had a driver dash I probably would have gotten one already.
Here's mine. I have installed a couple different driver displays in my Model 3. The current one is small and doesn't block the vents.

Someone stole the top half of your steering wheel!

Do any of the "driver displays" you tested show the native Tesla navigation?

Ha! I just installed it last Friday. It's been fun so far - feels like driving a new car.

The simpler display like the one shown provide standard info like speed, miles remaining, SOC, warning lights, AP distance, speed limits, tire pressure, etc. I have another larger screen that has full Carplay/Android Auto where you can do a split screen and have any app running like Waze or ABRP.

I have seen the ones with Apple CarPlay but not a big fan of the poorly done EV vehicle integration on CarPlay; I really prefer the Tesla navigation. I have been wanting a display that shows the navigation - they all seem to pull all the other info from the Tesla except for turn-by-turn directions.

In the UK if you buy via the Tesla inventory then you can get the car in weeks and MY LR Grey/Black is £4000 less than the website. its about £50,900 all in for anew one Vs Fisker Ocean £63k with grey colour option. If only they had HW4.0 and the sensors to park the car properly i may have been tempted. I need the car near Jan/Feb 2024 so no rush to pull the gun. Also can see waht Fisker provide.

Tesla wouldn't lower prices for no reason, you are right. They have a demand problem, necessitating lower prices.
I just don't understand what yall mean when you say demand. they sell more electric vehicles than anybody else. Model Y was best selling SUV last year. All their cars have some kind of waitlist. How do you have to wait months for cars if there is a "demand problem". I mean, can you tell me the last time people were able to buy a tesla (brand new,not one in inventory) without being on a wait list?

Its all business. Tesla charged high prices while they could do it. They lowered prices to have those same people continue to buy it. Theyaren't losing out, they are winning. Just some hard facts for people to swallow

Order today and see when it comes. Its still a waitlist. But I guess your point is after 10+ years of selling so many cars you can finally wait about 1 month to get a Tesla? Because you only have to wait a month for a S means Tesla is going out of business or something? Elon is still one of the richest in the world. The hate for Tesla is unreal. Just because you lower prices doesn't mean demand is gone. Doesn't mean the company is doing bad. Just means they want to sell cars. FISKER should try doing this!

It takes time to manufacture and deliver the vehicle. Being able to get one in under three weeks means it's likely sitting in a lot somewhere right now. Being so apologetic for Tesla's price reduction is unreal to me.

Econ 101. Lower price = increased demand. When we say demand problem, it means that like everyone else, Tesla has increasing inventory as they aren't slowing production. But they aren't moving as many vehicles as they are producing so their inventory increases. So to sell more cars and keep their inventory low they lower prices. Simple economics.

Tesla wouldn't lower prices for no reason, you are right. They have a demand problem, necessitating lower prices.
Its not just a demand problem. Its also a business strategy. They have the best margins in the business and now while everyone struggles to cut costs and put out more models, Tesla dramatically undercuts them forcing people who previously didn't consider Tesla's to purchase BEVs from them instead of from a legacy brand. Its puts loads of pressure on the legacy automakers as it paints them in a pretty negative light electrification-wise.

Tesla is selling cars. Great business strategy they have. This lowering prices is a non-story. When I bought my model 3 the S class was around 70 grand. Why didn't Tesla drop it all the way back down to that if there's such a "demand problem" ?

They had dropped the price to $70k as they had a demand problem for the S as everyone knew an updated model was due out soon. It was their clearance sale on the S. The 100D was in the mid $90k before their end of production dump.

70 grand was a limited range battery. They don’t make that range in Model S anymore.
