Fisker released a new photo of the PEAR EV earlier today, and it has a strikingly similar front-end as the Fisker Ocean.

Earlier today, Henrik Fisker shared a new photo of the PEAR EV. If you look at the Fisker PEAR next to the Fisker Ocean, you can see many striking similarities in the design.

The two Fisker EVs share a very similar front-end. Although we know the rear of each electric vehicle will be completely different. This comes at no surprise to us.

Each Fisker EV has identical headlights, honeycomb grill, and digital radar. Fisker has talked about its asset light strategy for over a year. We are now seeing it bear fruits from their labor.

Component sharing is the reason we see many similarities when the two electric vehicles are compared side-by-side.

Component Sharing

Fisker’s asset-light approach affords them the ability to share platform design elements and components among Fisker EV models. The company has identified incremental opportunities to share components....Read More.

There's probably not going to be any platform sharing since they are built on two different platforms and by two different manufacturers. They have a cohesive family look, which is good. Looking at the details, the hood, lights, front bumper are actually pretty different between the Ocean and the Pear.

@MTN Ranger Similarities for sure. Won't know for sure until we see a clean photo without all the graphic design additions! Here are the examples Fisker provides for component synergies:
  • Central Display: Large, high-resolution, low latency central screen from Sharp
  • Centralized processors: High-performance compute scales across platforms
  • Fisker cloud and software: Scales easily from Ocean to PEAR
  • Door handles, etc: Multiple body components can be re-used due to low Ocean BOM cost
  • Test and validation: In-house Fisker capability, upfront investments scale to PEAR
