Yes the third row seat option has been discussed.
Fisker Inc took a survey a few months back asking their
current Reservation Holders two questions.
Would you pay extra for :
1) 7 Seat Option with third row
2) upgrade your existing Sound System to the next level up
In Summary,
Henrik Fisker stated that the 7 Seat Option MAY become available in the future

Most compact CUVs with a third row are pretty much useless. For example, the Model Y is ridiculously small. I wouldn't put child seats back there - too close to the rear glass.
The Model Y third row is its own special kind of dumb. That's just Elon throwing it in there as an afterthought so he could keep his early and poorly-planned (like everything) promise.
