Just converted my reservation here too…..why not?’

Plus a nice find from @TT97:

This is big from Sec. 6:

If you apply for the EV tax credit as set forth hereunder, and are denied by the Internal Revenue Services (“IRS”) for reasons not attributable to you, VinFast will provide you with a $7,500 purchase price rebate (or similar rebate) on your Vehicle purchase.

Looks like a lot of companies followed Fisker's lead to try and get their customers a chance to maybe claim the old tax credit. It will be interesting to see how the IRS handles this with all of these companies jumping on board.

I got the same email and wasn't planning on converting but impressed with their language.

Yes! That is an impressive “add-on” in addition to the $3K “coupon” upon reserving, could be something to watch.

Now that is impressive. Kudos to VinFast.

The only problem with this offer is that its a VinFast and I dont trust any cars built in China. Plus, its slower than the Fisker and meh on the appearance.
But kudos to them for guaranteeing you get the $7500 one way or another.

VinFast is made in Vietnam for now and they plan to build a factory in USA very soon.

I’m not convinced with battery subscription model, hate paying monthly $200+ for battery. I will be canceling my reservation very soon.
I am 100% with you on this one. Cancelled my reservation as soon as the subscription came out. Nonetheless, I really appreciate this gesture! Good for them. (Still not buying a vehicle where I do not own most of the powertrain though!)

I concur. I’m holding mine to see if the VinFirst perks will be worth anything. The NFT for $5k off and VinFirst membership can be sold

I'm curious if one does not have the liability for full credit if vinfast will just do the 7500 credit lol.

If this is case I will convert order in a heartbeat.

I'll deal with battery leasing if they will take 7500 as a purchase rebate.

That would fall in the hard “no” category, the language is clear “for reasons not attributed to the customer.” 😂

And not taking ownership of the battery might take care of the ton of questions coming about battery degradation, care, etc. 🤣

VF8 $110/mo
VF9 $160/mo unlimited miles plans

Plus the car is priced to exclude the cost of the battery….

Hey, like I said in an earlier post - options……

A Battery Subscription Program for Everyone
The VinFast Battery Subscription Program is a truly innovative service model that makes premium electric vehicles (EVs) more accessible to everyone. When customers purchase VinFast EVs, the battery cost is excluded from the vehicle purchase price.

Customers only pay a monthly subscription fee based on the plan that suits their needs. Additionally, with a valid battery subscription, VinFast bears responsibility for battery repairs, maintenance, and replacement costs to provide customers with a worry-free experience for the life of the vehicle.

Policy: For VinFirst Pioneers who purchase a VF 8 or VF 9 in 2022 or 2023, customers will enjoy permanent subscription rates for the entire life of their vehicle.

I took it off topic too, I guess.. 😎. I am sure the VinFast forums have plenty on the merits and deficiencies of the vehicle.

My main point was how they also did something concrete with the change in legislation while the stalwarts were much slower to move, if they did at all.
