You can buy a subscription for $18.00 per month for starts! Just kidding...I couldn't resist. 🤑Ok. I usually like your videos but this a stretch. You can get a 20k car with push start but this 70k car requires a fob to be inserted somewhere….. plus the logic falls apart since you mentioned all cars don’t come with a key fob. Please explain how they will start their car. Make it make sense sway. we will see when specs come out but I don’t think this one ages well
This makes sense except but why wouldn’t you allow it to charge on the wireless charge pad? I guess it could slide around but simply placing it there would allow for it to charge. Placing it on the wireless charger and giving it any charge would allow it to send a signal to the car to recognize it. A simple USB slot would allow for simple charging at homeMy guess for the slot is that typically just having your key with you inside the car is enough, however, if the battery on the fob is dead, then putting the fob in the slot will allow the car to recognize the key (and as mentioned in the video, the slot may also charge the fob).
This I also can’t understand. Considering what they’re charging for the additional fob, it seem cheap not to include at least one.I just looked because I remember the Mach-E customers complaining that it only came with 1 fob. Apparently the 2021 had just 1, but the 2022 came with 2.
The Model 3 & Y never came with fobs (just a key card); now they are no longer providing fobs for the S & X either. I would personally prefer a key card as I don't carry any keys, it would be a pain to need to carry a fob again.I'm just annoyed that the Ultra does not include a fob. An honest question, is this common for electric cars to not come with any fob? I can sort of understand not coming with 2, but not including even 1 seems cheap. I suppose that passing on the asset light model to the customer.
In their most recent press release from June it's not listed in the Sport or Ultra trims, but it is listed for Extreme and One. Perhaps it is an accidental omission, but it wouldn't be the first feature to disappear over time, like the HUD, and 360 surround view camera in 2D has also disappeared from the Ultra features list. The Model 3 & Y never came with fobs (just a key card); now they are no longer providing fobs for the S & X either. As far as the Ocean, in the "Featured Highlights," all trims come with a KeyFob; the Ultra, Extreme & One include "(with California Mode)" - not sure why they are saying only Extreme & One come with fobs:

That's the beauty of the key card for Tesla (and Rivian has the same). You can keep the card in your wallet and is always available in case something happens with the phone - in four years I probably have needed to use it less than 5 times. I also have an RFID ring that opens my car so I can go running without having to carry anything. Rivian also has an RFID wristband that works the same way.In their most recent press release from June it's not listed in the Sport or Ultra trims, but it is listed for Extreme and One. And Im impressed that you don't need to carry keys anymore, but I would rather carry a fob in case my phone died, or something else happened to it. A key card would be acceptable to me but Fisker hasn't mentioned that as a solution. I just think something besides the app as key should be included.
Oh yes, I think you shared a pic of your ring before, right? That is actually pretty cool. Does that have to be ordered from Tesla or is it something from Amazon per say and you can put any RFID signal onto it?That's the beauty of the key card for Tesla (and Rivian has the same). I don’t think I ever posted a picture but pretty much looks like an Oura ring. I bought it from a 3rd party. The Tesla RFID is a little different so not all RFID rings work. I tried programming my work ID but the car didn’t recognize it.Oh yes, I think you shared a pic of your ring before, right? That is actually pretty cool. In my original draft of the article, I mentioned all trims come with a key fob. Sean confirmed that only the Extreme and One come with one. You need to order the key fob as an accessory on the lower trims if you want one.The Model 3 & Y never came with fobs (just a key card); now they are no longer providing fobs for the S & X either. Agree, at this price the key fob should be included!!!This is pretty disappointing. Any other Canadians out there know of a 64K+ vehicle that doesn't come with at least one key fob standard?
