Hello, we purchased a 23 FOO from Newport Fisker yesterday. Waiting for the EO key and cards to arrive and get programmed before it ships to us in WI. Did a bunch of research and decided we were willing to gamble and buy this instead of a cyber truck (yes price played a major role). Car is in her name so she signed up for the FOA. Haven't been accepted over there yet. Unsure if we will until the VIN pulls back her name. Might be a few weeks.

We did not spend the extra 2g on the tow package. But do want the receiver. I can wire the lights. Is anyone currently making or selling the metal receiver bar only? Or the bar and the plastic cover for the receiver? Worst case welder buddy can replicate the bar. Then we can send it for powdercoating. Someone could 3d print the cover. Hopeing that's not the route we end up taking, but not finding the bar for sale anywhere. Dealership doesn't have any. Thanks

23 FOO Big Sur, MaliBlu, 22s.

Congrats. Great car, I got the tow package and it was 100% worth it. I would change your order if you absolutely need a hitch.

I would have spent the 2k on the receiver/lights. It's a 7 pin with brake controller. Good luck getting a receiver after the fact, there are people that paid for it months ago but still haven't received it.

Remember, this is a unibody construction, not a body on chassis, so there are multiple specific contact points you need to hit to take both the tongue weight and pulling load, and they're right next to the battery, so messing that up could be bad.

I've been towing for nearly 30 years, i've installed hitches on plenty of vehicles, I wouldn't try to install one on the ocean that was not specifically made for it.

Appreciate the input. Largest thing we tow is our Ryobi EV riding lawn mower. Wiring a 7 way I'll be able to do. Even tho we don't have a trailer that takes a 7 way. I've seen the videos of the underneath by the tow receiver. It's a bolt in part. The chassis on one ordered with the tow package is not different, or at least I haven't found a difference yet. Maybe it does come with higher spring rates. Seems doing it this way we will be able to tow in earth mode. Mostly we use a foldable rack out back to haul gas and garbage since we done want them in the vehicle.

If a Fisker tech can add a receiver hitch in a few hours laying in someone's driveway, and certify that as "good as done during assembly", I don't feel any risk here.

Fellow Wisconsinite here (Hartland); welcome! I know of only one other FOA member from WI (@TosaFisker).

Congrats on your purchase. I am still really enjoying mine; almost a year now.

You can likely bolt on a hitch receiver if you can find a compatible one, which seems to be a challenge. However, the rear bumper plastic will be an issue, and you may have to cut a hole for the receiver to poke through. You also won't likely be able to connect a wiring harness at all.

I ordered mine with a hitch without electrical, but it came without a hitch altogether; and they were out of stock. While waiting for one to arrive, I told fisker I'd be willing to pay the difference for one with electrical if they have them in stock. They replied that hitches with electric require an extra module in the car when being built and mine didn't have the module, so it's not an option for me. I was very surprised. Seems very short sided, not to be able to upgrade at some point.

A month after receiving my car they did install the hitch receiver, without electric. They had to replace the rear bumper to do it. It now has a removable plastic piece in the bumper that I need to remove when I use the hitch. I use it almost every weekend and so far so good.

I have the parts to make the light adapter. But it's not gonna be just adding the plug. It is a isolated system to prevent disturbing the vehicle. And will require wire to wire connections. My plan is to only make them to support the 7 way connector. Not the 4 pin. My receiver arrived today from tsunami. Might be a few weeks before I get to it. Oh and lastly. This setup will only be available to dues paying FOA members. Also this is the last post for me on this forum as all the verified real conversations are in the FOA discourse. Just keeping our efforts in one place. Congrats on purchase.

The tow hitch comes with no wiring harness.
