As per Fisker the glass roof is tinted, no sliding panel.
I'm guessing both the BigSky (fixed panoramic roof) and OpenSky (sliding panormamic roof) will be tinted heavily like most cars these days. It's hard to tell about the SolarSky - but that kind of has built-in blocking due to the solar panel grid.

Just wondering exactly where the Ocean fits within the definition of a SUV size range or category. Is it a "small" or "medium" sized SUV? What defines "small" versus "medium," or, is it simply in the eye of the beholder? In my mind, I had always sort of placed the Ocean in the "medium" size category. Now, I'm not so sure. Opinions?

As an aside. My wife and I recently went to one of our local KIA dealerships after they called us to come over and take a look at some EV6s that had just arrived last month. We were initially interested in the EV6 because of it's sporty looks, decent range and performance, tech features, charging speeds, available options, etc., etc. However, once we saw it in person, it just looked so small in comparison to our present Nissan Murano SL which has a fairly good rear cargo area. Upon seeing the EV6, my wife and I both came to the same conclusion rather quickly that it would be virtually impossible to take the KIA on vacation with all of our requisite luggage, two sets of golf clubs, the dog and our son. We can barely make it in the Murano now with all the stuff we need/want to take along! The KIA salesman begged us to take a test drive of the EV6 and we declined and left rather disappointed in our experience. Now, I'm beginning to feel nervous that the Ocean's cargo space isn't going to be any more suitable for us than the EV6 would be??? Living in the eastern part of Tennessee (Knoxville) as I do, I doubt that we will ever get an opportunity to see...let alone drive...an Ocean prior to order commitment time. Somebody help...I'm having a sinking feeling! 😕
It's approximately the same size as the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E

Measuring 188 inches, the Ocean is roughly the same size as the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E, but its wheelbase stretches is a bit longer at 115-inches. Unlike those rivals, the Fisker keeps a long-roof, wagon-like profile that aids rear stowage and enables the sliding sunroof. The Ocean offers a “California mode,” where all four door windows, the rear quarter windows and tailgate window lower while the roof slides back Fisker claims the sunroof has the largest aperture in the industry. With everything open, the feel is not unlike a topless Jeep Wrangler.

So many helpful comments from the Fiskerites!

May I suggest a road trip from Knoxville, TN to New York City, NY
once the Fisker Experience Centre opens (sometime in 2022?)

Nothing beats an "up & personal" face to face interaction!

It's an 11 hour drive or a quick short-haul flight.
Alternatively, Fisker Los Angeles should open in June/July 2022

If you look at my post above, I explain why the Ocean most likely is poor with cargo.

I would wish the Ocean was as decent as the Ioniq 5 with cargo. I think you haven't seen actually how big it is. It beats everything but a Model X.
Hey, I think I started to draft my reply, and then finished it after your post. I agree with your items 2,3, and 4 but I thought I saw its as wide or wider than competition. I'll happily be corrected by apples to apples numbers.

I've driven the Ioniq5, and opened up the hatch and had a poke around. Its a great car, but the fastback cuts into cargo space. The passenger volume area is also excellent, very airy feeling. So yes when you fold the seats down you get a lot. Everyone has a different idea of what enough cargo space is.

Edit: model Y is wider than ocean, ocean wider than I5, mach-e

Yeah, I know the drive well. We lived just outside Philly (King of Prussia area) for around 10 years when I was employed by Burlington Industries (Lees Carpets Division) there. It took us 11 hours to drive between Knoxville and KoPrussia. It's probably more like 13 hours to NYC. If this car buying adventure ends up coming together later this year I might just have to make a trip to check the Ocean out in person. I think Fisker is going to have a facility down in Miami as well? That's about a 10 hour drive if I remember correctly? Or, maybe they will have a roadshow and come to me right here in Knoxville!;)

The Mach-E is about 74” wide without mirrors and 83" with mirrors.
The Ioniq5 is 74.4" wide without mirrors and 84.7" with mirrors.
Both similar to Model Y and much wider than the Ocean at 78.5" with mirrors. Fisker has not provided width without mirrors.
Wow. I thought all of those numbers were with mirrors measures. Thanks @MTN Ranger.

The bottom of the car looks wider (or similar) than the mirrors so the width difference with or without mirrors would be negligible.

I think that's an optical illusion due to the very wide angle lens that was used. These diagrams don't seem to match up. The overhead shows mirrors that extend past the fenders. The front view does the opposite.

Yes, I assumed the angle was part of the trick, however, even from the overhead diagram, the mirrors extending is fairly minimal so the difference wouldn't be much.

I was seeing several pictures and Videos... and actually the Width of Ocean probably includes the well tucked-in mirrors... even if optical illusion, I agree that it will be very close to the 78.5" width... max 80", if at all.

This Video (
, marker at 15 seconds for mirror) is no trick (illusion) photo, and seems to answer that question well.

Thanks for pointing that out. I guess we can deduct the average side mirror width x2 to get a number closer to what we'll actually experience as owners.

Do you already have a reservation for the Ocean? If so, add it to The Fisker Ocean Reservation Tracking List

Welcome @FiskeredMan! I think you're right, there's not going to be a huge difference between the width with the mirrors folded and not folded.

I think Henrik did a brilliant design... Wide, aggressive stance, yet the Mirrors will not take up width. Ocean is wider than the Mach-E ... but will enter a one car garage easier... while looking very Mean and sleek at the same time!

We purchased a Volkswagen ID.4 to replace our 2017 Subaru Outback ... mainly due to it's more usable (SUV-shaped) cargo area, available hitch and roof rack. At the time, we couldn't get all three of those things from either Tesla or Ford. To add to your list above, the ID.4 is 73" wide without mirrors and 83" wide with mirrors unfolded.
The Ocean's design with the wide hips makes it hard to know the dimensions of the cargo area - I suspect that despite the digram showing a conflict between the mirrors not protruding past the fenders on the front view and protruding on the top view, the reality will be somewhere close to flush. And they seem to have a lot of leg room in the rear seat and fairly long hood (at least compared to the ID.4). So, despite being longer than the ID.4 (188 inches vs 181 inches) it will likely have much less cargo area. This is a bit of a disappointment to us as it will make family vacations tough, packing-wise. That said, I suppose we'll have to see when some YouTubers like Bjorn Nyland gets his banana boxes out and Thomas Majchrzak takes out his old-school German tape measure!

Since the Ocean is about 78.5" wide even without mirrors (or even with it, due to its great design)... will it have a WIDE stance compared to many other SUVs that are just 188 inches long ? That would make it look very aggressive... and also make it very stable at high speed turns etc.

You make some good points. I think Bjorn Nyland has already done measurements on the cargo area of the Ocean when it was at the LA Auto Show or when he was in Europe and he has driven it I do believe as well. So might want to go back to youtube and look for the video.

Video shows 91cm L x 66cm H x 103cm W
converted to inches will be

35.8in L x 25in H x 40.5in W

This is all with the rear seats ups.
