How many OTA updates have you done in your Ocean so far?

Do you have Release Notes for your OTA updates?

It would be interesting to list the OTA updates in this thread and the Release Notes for each OTA update as well as personal observation on the bugs squashed and new behaviors introduced by each OTA update.

The OTA stuff seems to be an illusive process. No one has been willing to confirm if they have gotten an OTA with non-infotainment updates in it. My guess is no, based on the persistence off issues with locks, windows and drain.

I just got my update tonight. I was working in my garage and heard my car making error noises. Turned around and the lights were on, and the drivers display was going nuts. The software download looked as though it only took a few minutes to get to 99%. It hung there for a few more minutes, then the car shut off. I went back an hour later, hit the unlock button on the FOB (worked first time), then hit the brake when I got in. My installation notification was on screen. No need to reboot. Total perfect OTA update. FOB locked first try from distance.

I won’t know until tomorrow if I see anything at all. My FOO has been working really well lately. As far as error displays, only adas or AEB errors with lane departure warnings on dark wet nights while it‘s raining. I can’t wait to see if there’s any FOB improvements, although that being said I just replaced my FOB battery today for poops and giggles and it immediately started working better. CA mode still has a perfect record of working. 😃

As far as release notes (besides what email said) and actual update version change onscreen, Fisker said that is going to happen later. I’ll be happy to update you with any improvements I see. Spock out.

A more realistic explanation of Fisker’s OTA updates-
1. If they delivered 3k cars so far, about 1/10th of them might have received some sort of OTA that may or may not have actually completed.
2.Since these are “rolling“ out in batches of 100, it may take months for the first OTA to actually get to 3k cars, longer and longer if they deliver more. Seems they sent out a batch of emails to schedule the OTA update which occurred last week, after that, there have not been anymore new emails to customers who have not received the OTA yet.
3.Anyone on FB, dorkerati, Reddit, etc who actually received the OTA and were lucky enough for it to actually work have noticed 0 changes in the actual vehicle, so no one actually knows if/what the OTA does.
4.I’m afraid the OTA updates that were received are more like the solar roof, does nothing.

My OTA to v1.10 was done on Sunday 11/12, key FOB works a bit more consistently and driving seems a lot smoother with starts and stops. 1st drive immediately after the update I still had front collision and blind spot monitoring sensor warnings, but now all subsequent drives since an overnight deep sleep have had no warnings. Looking forward to adaptive cruise control and solar monitoring!

Is the "gas" pedal still spongy in Earth mode?
). Any update on the roll back?
@JDOcean, I believe it more appropriate to call it "GO pedal" vs gas pedal :ROFLMAO:
The next OTA update will address the "Rolling back" issue

Totally agree with @Deafsoundguy liking being able to coast backwards while shifting from R to D, I noticed it right away. Our hybrid Volvo does this too, whereas our otter cars make you come to a full stop and it’s super annoying and has actually been a bit dangerous making 3 point turns in traffic if you’re not expecting it. I hope they don’t change this function.

GO pedal works well. :)

I'm asking a bunch of questions as I'm currently working with Fisker on potentially securing a FOO. They have them available with tow package, just waiting on finalized pricing. They will offer the same benefits as any other FOO owner. I'm just a little hesitant on pulling the trigger given the wide variety of issues and opinions. Some people have had zero problems and an awesome experience, while others seem to have had a really tough time. I would have to imagine if it's difficult to get service in California, how would they handle a problem here in Canada? I'm waiting on the what the CA$ price is going to be and then make the call.

Just reporting in after my update, It‘s been 48 hrs and zero errors as far as anything on the drivers display or the infamous WONK sound. Really nice driving all over and just smooth sailing. The real test is driving in the dark and raining (always ripe for adas or AEB warning) which I’ll get to test over the weekend. Also, maybe I’m lucky the last few days but my FOB seems like it works way better too. Most of time I can lock it from 30 to 50’ away. Unlocks way better.

The thing I noticed right off the bat was the GOM (range guess-o-meter). Before it was odd how it was calculating range impacts with heat and hill climbing. Now it seems much more common sense. As in when you’re going up hills it is taking range off faster as it thinks you may be climbing the Grapevine. And then when you go right back down and regen is your friend, it puts the miles back on for the most part. Since I’ve been going the same routes in 3 different EVs over the last 7 years, now it seems like it’s very similar to the others. I had missed the release notes on the Fisker planned updates email and it does say that range calculations were to be changed, so it was altered, and is very noticeable in certain situations.

I personally have not noticed any difference in overall driving. Just lack of error warnings (thank the stars ), the range calculations and FOB performance. I have no idea if my update was 1.09 or 1.10. I’m guessing 1.09.

The only thing that is not working properly on my FOO is CC. 90% of the time it just kicks off after 5 seconds and won’t work again. Total random when it works and doesn’t work. Some days it works first time and stays working the whole time, so it cant be a bad switch on the steering wheel, it has to be a bug. I find it odd that I not read any reports/complaints anywhere from any other FOO owners about CC. Am I the only one?

My CC has always worked the handful of times I tried it. Also confirming still no sensor error codes again for another day since the update 4 days ago. Just a nice, quiet and pleasant drive to work and back. Really loving this car and I feel bad for owners that are having to deal with major and persistent issues. I really hope the company can get through these growing pains and allocate more resources to get all new adopters to where I’m at mentally about the car.

Anyone have any idea what the latest software is supposed to be? (or how to check?) .. I've seen some folks report that the car can now perform OTA updates using WiFi, but I see no evidence of that in my car yet. Cellular coverage is spotty (at best) here and if I have to drive somewhere (w/ reception), I'd like to know I'm not just going to be sitting there hoping something happens.
Thanks

This back and forth stuff on quite simple stuff is to me (a seasoned industrial and automotive control/IT professional) a very clear indication that either Fisker is struggling with their tech and developement and deploy processes. Or they are operating at or past the bounds of their homologation.

What Fisker is trying to achieve is very hard, so a lot of leeway should be given, but when the actuals don't match the bragging and cockiness of HF....

Hi everyone,

We hope you're having a great day!

As we’ve been seeing quite a few questions regarding our OTA updates that’s currently going out to all Fisker Ocean One’s on the road, we wanted to share some further information outside of the email you’ll have already received from our side and clear up any potential confusion on your end.
1. Invitations to schedule a day for the most recent update went out all at once in mid November. If you received your Fisker Ocean after this date, your vehicles software should already have been updated to 1.10 in the factory or at the relevant staging site.
The update is performed manually by technicians in California at the Fisker Inc. headquarters who connect directly to your car, so we set the time zone for the day to choose the update at Pacific time.
2. Upon receiving the email, if there were no slots available for you to choose, it’s because they were already booked by other Fisker Ocean owners who were invited to the same time slot.
We understand this might have caused a bit of inconvenience for some, but it’s a necessary step to get the update out wide as fast as possible, so no need to worry.

From here on it gets a little bit technical, but shortly put, the Fisker Ocean system consists of various parts of software. Some of the software relates to the User Interface, while other parts are relevant for the driving systems, kind of like a backend. However, both systems of course relate to each other, and the backend needs to be fully up to date before we can update the UI. The update on the backend you will not be able to see, but once it’s happened, we’re able to push out the new UI updates through an “Accept Software Update” button within the UI itself.

Our goal was to complete most of the updates by the end of November, and while we achieved this, there will always be some vehicles updated later due to the needed backend update as described above. We will get these remaining vehicle updates done as well!

Going forward, we’re committed to providing structured OTA updates on regular basis and as often as possible, while of course maintaining high standards of the updates themselves. For the next upcoming updates, here’s what we have lined up:

January 2024: Software robustness, improved response time for remote commands, improved battery usage, especially when parked; and enable the vehicle to remain plugged in while an OTA software update is pushed.

Q1 2024: Expect further updates to improve the SolarSky roof capabilities; enhance the torque split between front and rear wheels; introduce a hill-holding function and one-pedal driving; alter the external vehicle sound and lock-unlock to be lower pitched while driving and more pleasant based on customer feedback; improve key fob functionality; enhance the audio experience; introduce a Pet Mode for pet comfort; and add ADAS features, among improvements. Some of these features may require homologation.
Should you have questions about the OTA update which isn’t covered in this post, feel free to ask here in the thread and we’ll do our best to try and get all relevant information for you!
🙂

On behalf of the entire Fisker Inc. team, we also want to thank the community for staying positive and sharing information helping out each other - you're all EV stars in the Fisker community!

(EDIT, additional comment)

Regarding which version would be showing in the UI to confirm you have the correct update, it's possible to show either 1.07, 1.08, 1.09, 1.10 or 1.11 and still have the latest update. So the way to confirm would be to check if you have trip stats available within the UI - any Fisker Ocean with the trip counter activated, is fully up to date software wise.

Currently, which version number is displayed can also be affected of whether or not you're in the US or Europe, as well as an array of other factors - but the trip counter being activated should be how you're easily able to tell whether or not you've received the most recent update.

For the drivers who did not receive the latest update as of yet: It's due to an update on another part of the system, which we first need to complete for the vehicle to be able to accept the newest UI update.

We're currently pushing this system update through to all vehicles that need it, but we kindly ask for your patience towards this as it will happen organically.
If you receive this update prompt e.g when driving and are unable to accept, you should be able to have it come back upon turning off the car and letting it go to sleep(probably let it sit for around 5 minutes), before then turning on again.

For the few people having "1/2" display and is missing the latter part of the update - It will come eventually as it's the same reasoning as above.
If there's a hardware issue blocking your vehicle from being able to receive the updates, you will be contacted by your local Fisker Center+ for them to complete the update manually. We kindly ask for your patience in this process as well!

We'll of course continue to monitor the thread and if any information we've provided here or in the original post is incorrect, we'll amend to the correct when possible!

Yup .. saw this on FB .. along w/ their "clarification" on how to know if you have the latest software version .. but I have no idea where trip stats would be .. I don't see trip stats anywhere .. do u have them? Could you post a pic as to where I would see them if they were there?

My tech called me yesterday and told me that within the next few weeks that I (I’m assuming everyone?) will get a notification onscreen when I start up the car and at the end of a drive that will want me to schedule the next OTA update which will give me(us?) the things that I’m not seeing yet (”trips” and Im guessing the WiFi capability). So instead of an email where you schedule, you do it onscreen in your car.

I didn’t ask if he meant selected few via rollout or everyone. If i was thinking, I should have asked if it was the rest of 1.11(1/2) or the 2 of 1.11(2/2).
